The Onyx Group offer fast, reliable connectivity and flexible bandwidth pricing. Connectivity is provided by two separate leading UK ISPs each via multiple connections to the databanx facility. DataBanx bandwidth comes with an industry standard Service Level Agreement (SLA).
Our bandwidth is provided across a fully Cisco-powered network, utilizing the latest networking hardware from Cisco Systems. We use cutting-edge features such as layer 3 switching, stackwise stacking, wire-speed access lists, port security and vlans to ensure that your connection is fast, stable and secure. All connectivity services can be quickly and easily upgraded to accommodate the growth and expansion of your server hosting requirements. All service usage can be monitored on our traffic graphs. Fixed Bandwidth This service is ideal for companies with steady, predictable bandwidth usage. You will be provided with a fixed connection from 256Kbps upwards. The benefits of fixed bandwidth are that you can budget for and easily predict your monthly connection spend and can guarantee an uninterrupted connection to your server(s). However during busy periods traffic may reach capacity on the line so service will be degraded and during quiet times much of the bandwidth may remain unused, which makes this solution only suitable for businesses with a flatter usage profile. Burstable Bandwidth Many of businesses want the flexibility of being able to increase bandwidth to their servers during busy periods so that customers don't experience slow connections at peak times. We can offer this added flexibility with our burstable bandwidth service. Instead of being constrained to your standard contract we will allow you to exceed your normal bandwidth, up to an agreed amount, whenever you need it. We calculate how much extra bandwidth you use during any month and charge for this using the 95% percentile rule at a premium rate (invoiced on a monthly basis). Data Traffic This service is priced based upon the amount of traffic that your servers use each month. This traffic may be used in peaks and troughs making it ideal for businesses that experience high demand at certain times. During these busy periods customers won't experience a loss of speed and during quiet periods you wont be wasting money on unused bandwidth. Pricing is based on GB's of traffic per month payable in advance. Should you exceed your traffic usage for the month then connectivity to your server(s) will not be lost, we allow you the ability to burst above your contracted amount and will charge a premium rate when you do this (Invoiced at the end of each month).
