Not only do we have the British Standard 7799 for our dedication to making our customers systems and information resilient and secure, we were the first company in the UK to be awarded ISO 27001 for continued devotion to information security.

British Standard 7799

The British Standard 7799, is the most widely recognised security standard in the world. BS7799 (ISO17799) is comprehensive in its coverage of security issues and contains a significant number of control requirements.

Our Newcastle facility is the first, private sector data centre in the North East to have achieved the BS7799 quality standard. There are only a handful of companies in the UK that have this extremely high-level quality accreditation and of these only a small number are data centres.

The BS7799 standard is increasingly becoming a pre-requisite for the Government, Public Sector, Financial Sector and obtaining certification provides us with the ability to serve this market.

ISO 27001

ISO 27001 is the new international standard that provides a specification for ISMS and the foundation for third-party audit and certification. The basic objective of the standard is to help establish and maintain an effective information management system, using a continual improvement approach. It implements OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) principles governing security of information and network systems.

DataBanx Newcastle was one of the first organisations in the World to recieve this prestigious accreditation making it a testament to the facilities commitment to information security.
